MIXED KO CUP FINAL HELD UP FOR FORTY MINS.
The Final of the KO mixed league cup took place between the Beacon B and the Pride of Erin 26th September. The mixed KO finals' Host the "Queen Adelaide" did the game proud by putting on, not just food, but a complete Banquet big enough to 'Buckle' the pool table with Hot snap ranging from Fish n Chips (an I do mean fish...didn't think they grew that big anymore) to Bangers and sandwiches. Will Aubrey (pride) was upset 'cos he had to miss that on account of getting back to Beeston after the score went up one all. In fact there was so much that both teams took a forty minute break to relish in the culinary spread. (why didn't anyone ring me??... I could've been there in ten mins.. grrrr ) However it did just seem to fuel the game as both teams pushed their full stomachs to a 3-3 draw with just the final leg to play which went to the Beacon B who won the Cup 4-3. The delay, so I am told, did not affect the game as it was all done and dusted for just after 11pm.. There were seconds then??

THE VAL BENNETT-BULL MEMORIAL ALL DAY TEAM KO
Sunday 17th September 2006
WINNERS: 'BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE - Paul Gadsby, John Smith & Gary Britten comprised this winning combination from the Queens, Beeston. This crew have made it their 3rd win in succession although this is a first from the Queens with the previous two wins being out of the Hemlock Stone.
RUNNERS UP: 'THREE HORSESHOES' Dean Middleton, Dave Large & Bob Kirk made up the other finalist winning side but, the Bright side of Life won out to culminate the end of a great day of darts.
A Brilliant day, many thanks to all participants & their supporters for making it an enjoyable occasion played in the true sporting spirit of the Game. Many thanks to all the Committee Members who helped out and were good enough to arrive at 9am Sun morning to set up the boards etc, and make the day possible. And finally to the hosts Hillside Club, who, I am sure you are aware, have a day staff to be proud of and worked hard throughout the day and gave service with a smile. Many thanks, see you all for the next Beeston league all day KO in April.
